Hello and Happy Sunday – a Slimline card with Elephant Parade to share with you today. I recently shared a 3D project featuring these cute little elephants. It goes without saying that they can be used for making cards too!
Recently I used one of the Split Card Texture Dies which screamed “trellis” on a floral card with Wisteria hanging from it which you can see HERE. I thought the other half of the die set with the floral theme would be perfect for this card.
Card details
The card base was cut with Basic White Thick card stock measuring 7″ x 8-1/2″ (18 cm x 22 cm). I added a mat layer in Petal Pink. It adds a pop of colour through the apertures of the Basic White top layer with the stamped images.
The grass was hand drawn to “ground” the elephants which were stamped in Basic Gray as were the flowers, baloon and butterflies. My colour palette for the Stampin’ Blends are Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and Calypso Coral.
Adding an extra layer
To prevent “bleeding” I avoided stamping directly on to the card base. I used a combination of Smokey Slate and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends to colour in the elephant. I also added a hint of Petal Pink with a blending brush so that the “white” space wouldn’t be so white.
Thanks for visiting – enjoy the rest of your weekend!
