Today’s quick, simple card uses the Countless Trees photopolymer stamp set which is reversible. This means you can stamp on both sides of the stamp. It’s a two step stamping method. The flat side leaves a shadow, and the etched side adds the detail.
Usually you’d use a lighter ink for the shadow image and a darker ink for the detail. One of the tricks in the trade is to ink up the stamp and stamp off on a scrap piece of paper before you stamp it on your project. The first time you stamp directly from ink pad and commit to paper is called first generation stamping. The second time you stamp without re-inking your stamp on your project is called second generation stamping and so on. So the more times you stamp, the lighter each subsequent stamping will be.
Host reward – Celebrate Everything 12″x 12″ DSP
This bumper pack of paper is a Host reward for holding a workshop with a qualifying collective sales total. There are 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double sided designs which will suit any occasion whether it’s Christmas, Halloween, Autumn or the New Year.
I’ve used one of the sheets and turned it the other way round to resemble clouds. If you orient it the other way, it would look like waves!!! Now that’s what I call clever, versatile design!!!
Additional stamp
The die cut clouds are from the Waves Dies which coordinate with the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and the sentiment “happy birthday” was just the right size to go across the “beach” front.
Inside card
Carrying on the quick and simple theme for inside the card. This time I only stamped the coconut palm and some grass and hey presto – finito!
