Interlocking Gate-fold – Cup of Tea

Today I am re-visiting the interlocking Gate-fold using the Cup of Tea bundle. I’m sure I’ve done this type of fold many years ago, but I can’t find it anywhere so I thought I’d make a Mother’s Day card with the Cup of Tea bundle because my Mum loves tea.

The Cup of Tea bundle is in the current May 2022 – April 2023 Annual catalogue. When it first came out, I used it to death, but it’s gathering dust, so time to bring it out! I’ve used some golden oldies too – like the layering circle dies.

To make the scalloped circle frame I initially took the lazy way out and set the 2nd largest straight edge circle inside the largest scalloped one. The dies didn’t like it! It made indentations on the 2nd largest straight edge circle die so I had to cut the scalloped circle first, then position the 2nd largest straight edge circle die over the die cut scallop.

The gate-fold base was cut smaller than I normally cut my card base so that the gate-fold measurements would be easily divisible by 2. I also used the Marigold Moments stamp set for the “happy mother’s day” greeting, but forgot to include it in my photo.

I added a petal pink mat layer to tie it in with the front of the card.
