We make cards mostly for happy occasions, but occasionally we also need Sympathy cards – ones that are necessary, but which are not necessarily made with any pleasure or enjoyment.
Any bereavement whether it is a cherished friend, a relative or a much loved pet takes the stuffing out of you, and it is just as important to send a card to tell that person(s) you are thinking of them.
My friend lost her beautiful pet recently and I made this sympathy card using the images from the Painted Poppies stamp set, and the sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in the Peaceful Poppies Suite. You’ll find it on pages 24-27 in the January to June 2020 Mini Catalogue. I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies on page 20 from the So Sentimental Bundle to die cut a mat layer in Basic Black, and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and partially stamped the head of the poppy flower to fill the spaces on the label.
For the splashes of colour, I referenced the Peaceful Poppies DSP, having used a 3-3/4″ x 2″ (9.5 cm x 5 cm) strip to adhere to my Very Vanilla mat layer and used Stampin’ Blends combo in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.
I hope the card brought them a little comfort that we were thinking of them at this sad time. Listed below are several options to the supply list
- just the stamp set alone,
- or the bundle price for the stamp set bundle which includes the coordinating dies,
- or the Peaceful Poppies Suite bundle which will include both Peaceful Moments & Painted Poppies Bundles plus a pack of the Peaceful Poppies DSP, Peaceful Poppies sequins, Whisper White 1/4″ (6.4 mm) crinkled seam binding ribbon and the Peaceful Poppies elements.
Don’t forget, any qualifying purchases (£45 excluding shipping/handling) you make during the Sale-A-Bration period from 3 January to 31 March will earn you a free product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thanks for stopping by.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful card.
Thank you, Patricia, kind of you to say.
