Mixing old with new

It’s so easy to be overtaken by new products that we forget the gems that have gone before.  I looked through the stamps and dies I had which would be suitable for making a wedding card for my Godson and it was fun re-tracing my steps.  I couldn’t make up my mind which set to use, so ended up making a tri-fold card.

First up is the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder – heavens…that’s such a mouthful!  With the Autumn/Winter catalogue just round the corner it would be rude not to include one or two sneak peeks!

Can you see what it is?  Champagne foiled paper – a brushed subtle hue of gold – well actually “Champagne” describes it perfectly!

The Stitched Shapes Framelits came into play too, of course and I used the Flourish Thinlits  – the multipurpose adhesive sheets were perfect for this. Stampin’ Up! used to carry this in 12″x 12″ sheets. Then it was discontinued and they’ve brought it back, but this time it’s only available in 6″ x 12″ sheets. The sheets have double sided stickiness, you remove one protective layer and place card stock on it then place your die on top and run it through the Big Shot.  Once it has been die cut, peel the protective backing from the remaining side and adhere it to the card stock – NO mess!!!

The “Wedding Wishes” comes from “Rose Wonder”  which I copper embossed.

I die cut the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit and adhered it to the back of the right panel.  When it is closed it sits opposite to my Godson and his wife’s first name initials.

Here is the card fully open.  The centre panel is from the Floral Phrases set.  Everything was heat embossed with copper embossing powder and I used the copper trim.  It has a loose-weave which when fanned out, makes a really pretty bow.

My Godson married a Polish girl, so we were invited to attend.  We’ve never been to Warsaw before, and it was a good excuse to visit somewhere new and get to learn more about Polish culture.

I used the envelop punch board to customise an envelop – what else can you see?  Did you guess?  A new punch and I love the stamp set that coordinates with it.  Look closer – what else can you see?  I think these are going to fly off the shelf!!!

Happy Sunday!
