Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day. It’s Father’s Day in the UK today so wishing all the Dad’s out there a Happy Father’s Day and remembering the Dads who are no longer with us but who shine brightly in the sky above. I’ve been wracking my brain how else I could use these new Party Alphabet dies on a card. Here’s what I came up with.

I made a page turner with the letters staggered so that each letter is visible and I could stamp a little something on each page.

Materials used

The stamps I used are She’s the Greatest and Trusty Tools, Party Alphabets Dies, Lost Lagoon, Daffodil Delight and Basic White card stock, Boho Vibes 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP. Inks used are Daffodil Delight, Secret Sea, Smoky Slate classic stamp pads and Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, Lost Lagoon soft cording. That’s seems like quite a list!

How to make the card

Creating the “booklet”

1. Basic White #1 : cut 1 piece 2 ¼” x 6 ½” (5.7 cm x 16.5cm). Long side score at 1 ¾” (4.4 cm). The first Party Alphabet “D” will fit on this piece (this will be page 1 and 4 i.e., 4 being the last page)
2. #2nd Basic White piece : cut at 2 ¼” x 8″(5.7 cm x 20.3 cm). Long side score at 3 ¼” (8.2 cm). The letter “C” is adhered to the front shorter side (2nd page) and 2nd “D” will fit on the top of the longer side of the same piece (3rd page).
3. Stack Basic White #2 score line on top of Basic White #1 score line.
4. Use ⅛” hand held circle punch to punch 3 holes along the score lines evenly spaced.
5. Thread Lost Lagoon soft cording both ends through outer holes then thread both ends through the middle hole from the inside back through to the outside. Tie tightly into a bow to “bind” book.

Adhering letters

1. From Boho Vibes 6″x 6″ DSP, die cut two “D”s and 1 x “A” with the Party Alphabet Dies.
2. Adhere one “D” to the front page.
3. Apply adhesive to “A” and adhere to page 2 and “D” to page 3.
4. On the back of page 3 apply adhesive and adhere to page 4.
5. Cut a Lost Lagoon mat layer at 5″ x 2 ⅜” (12.7 cm x 6 cm)
6. Apply adhesive to back of booklet and attach to Lost Lagoon mat layer.

Card base

1. Card base : Lost Lagoon cut at 4 ⅛” x 11 ½” (10.5 cm x 29.9 cm) and folded in half.
2. Daffodil Delight mat layers : cut 2 pieces at 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm). Adhere one to card front and one to inside of card.
3. Adhere the completed booklet and centre on card front on top of Daffodil Delight mat layer.
4. Stamp “happy father’s day” with Trusty Tools stamp in Secret Sea ink

Inside card

1. Cut Basic White mat layer for inside card at 5 ⅜” x 3 ¾ (13.7 cm x 9.5 cm).
2. Stamp the images from Trusty Tool stamps in Smoky Slate ink. Colour with Stampin’ Blends in Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight.
