Quick embossed sunflower card

Quick embossed sunflower card. One of the new Online Exclusives released in July is the gorgeous Sunflower 3D embossing folder.

The way of making the embossed image pop for my card today is to run Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over the debossed side. The reason for using this ink is because it is fast drying and fade resistant. Once dry, stamped images are water resistant and will not migrate and therefore ideal for using with alcohol markers.

Cutting guide

1. Card base : Very Vanilla 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm). Long side score at 4 ⅛” (10.5 cm)
2. Mat layer #1 Mossy Meadow : cut 2 pieces 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm)
3. Second Mat layer #2 Timid Tiger : cut 2 pieces 5 ¼” x 3 ⅝” (13.3 cm x 9.2 cm)
4. Third mat layer #3 Very Vanilla for card front only : cut 1 piece 5″ x 3 ⅜” (12.7 cm x 8.6 cm)
5. Card front only mat layer #4 Lemon Lolly for embossing with Sunflower 3D e/f : 4 ¾”x 3 ⅛” (12.1 cm x 7.9 cm)
6. Scrap of mossy meadow for embossing sentiment.
7. Lemon Lolly 1 ½” x 4″ (3.8 cm x 10.2 cm) for embossing with Sunflower 3D e/f for inside card.

How to make embossing folder “pop”

1. Run Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad over the debossed side of the Lemon Lolly layer. Allow to dry.
2. Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends colour in the leaves.
3. Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to colour in petals.
4. Combination of Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Pie to colour flower centres. Set aside.
5. Next emboss the Lemon Lolly strip for inside card. Repeat steps 1-4. Set aside.

White emboss greeting

1. Take a scrap of Mossy Meadow, use dust buddy to tap all over scrap before stamping greeting in Versamark ink.
2. Sprinkle with Wow Basics White embossing powder and heat set.
3. Trim as picture on card above.

Card assembly

Card front

1. Adhere mat layers to card front. Mossy Meadow first, followed by Timid Tiger, Very Vanilla, and the Lemon Lolly embossed piece leaving an even border on all four sides of each layer.
2. Attach dimensionals to back of greeting and adhere in bottom right corner.
3. Finish with a trio of Iridescent Foil Gems as pictured.

Inside card

1. Adhere mat layer inside card. Mossy Meadow first, followed by Timid Tiger leaving an even border on all four sides of each layer.
2. Attach Lemon Lolly embossed coloured strip about ¼” (0.5 cm) from bottom of Very Vanilla piece and trim off any excess on the reverse side. Then adhere Very Vanilla pieces on top of Timid Tiger layer to complete card.
