Trifold Halloween card – Halloween Countdown Series. Welcome to my 6 week Halloween Countdown Series. Say “hello” to the Spooky Sweet Suite Collection which first made its appearance as an Online Exclusive in July 2025.

Spooky Halloween bundle

The Spooky Halloween photopolymer stamp set has both images and greetings. Its dies correspond with some of the stamped images but there are also extra ones i.e., a house, bats, fence and a book mark. The patterned paper pack this year includes 2 sheets of pre-cut images and is classified as a specialty pack and of course there is also ribbon, shimmer star foam stickers which co-ordinate too.

Everyday Arches Dies

Today I have a trifold card made with Everyday Arches Dies. I used the largest arch and cut 6 arches from Black two-tone card stock. This is the ideal medium to use because it is lighter in weight than the normal card stock we use as card bases. Because the trifold requires hinges, I wanted to hide the hinges when viewed from the back which would entail sandwiching the hinges between two layers of card stock.

Spooky Sweet Specialty Designer Series Paper

These are the two sheets I used from the Spooky Sweet 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty DSP pack. It has 12 sheets, 2 each of 5 double sided designs and 2 sheets of single sided pre-cut images. The sheet on the left can be used for scrapbooking as well as card making. You can make 3 card fronts with the bottom strip – pumpkin field, the lit house front and the frame.

On the right, are the pre-cut images and there are 2 sheets of the same design. For today’s card I used the cauldron and green goo, the pink fairy, a tree cut in half and the pumpkins with the crow perched on top.

How to make the card

Card base

1. 1 sheet 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Two-tone Black card stock : cut the sheet at 5 ½” x 4″ (14 cm x 10.2 cm). It’s a tight fit, but each piece fits the largest arch. Die cut 6 pieces with largest Everyday Arch die.
2. Hinges – Scrap of two-tone card stock : cut 2 pieces 2″ x 3 ¼” (5 cm x 8.2 cm). Short side score at 1″ (2.5 cm). Apply tear n’ tape on either side of score line.
3. Adhere first arch to left half of hinge by aligning shy of score line and bottom edge of arch. Next align 2nd arch to right half of hinge aligning with bottom edge.
4. Attach left half of 2nd hinge to right side of 2nd arch. Then attach 3rd arch to right side of hinge.
5. Flip trifold card over so that the lighter side is face up. Apply adhesive to each of the lighter arch side and adhere remaining arches with dark side face up.

First panel

1. Second largest Everyday Arch die : cut 2 of the same Pumpkin DSP card fronts for the 1st and 2nd arch panels. Adhere one piece to the 1st arch panel and reserve the other for middle panel.
2. Adhere cauldron and the potion goo on top. Stamp “Don’t Worry” directly on to DSP as shown.
3. Basic White scrap : stamp “no tricks”, trim and use blending brush to apply Granny Apple Green to edges and adhere as shown.

Middle panel

1. Adhere remaining Pumpkin DSP arch panel to middle arch.
2. Select the pre-cut fairy to adhere to middle panel.
3. Next stamp stamp “all treats” on a scrap of Basic White and use blending brush to add colour round edges with Petunia Pop ink. Set aside.
4. Cut pre-cut Tree in half, trim and adhere the left half to right side of middle panel then adhere the “all treats” greeting overlapping the fairy.

Third panel

1. Basic White white card stock : die cut an arch with the 2nd largest Everyday Arch die. Ink up a blending brush to darken the edges of arch with Smoky Slate ink.
2. Stamp “Happy Halloween” on a scrap of Basic White card stock and fussy cut words. Apply Pumpkin Pie ink on edges with a blending brush before adhering at the top of the arch.
3. Adhere remaining half of tree to the left side of panel 3. Then adhere pumpkins and crow as shown.
4. Lastly adhere a pre-cut bat to left of the word “happy”.
