One Sheet Wonder – Autumn Toile. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe we’re already into November and Autumn is definitely here!

One Sheet Wonder is a technique of cutting up a sheet of patterned paper and maximising its use on cards without any wastage. I’ve often used this technique on 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) papers, but have never tried it on a 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) sheet!

Recently I attended a Craft-a-long held by Stampin’ Up! for Demonstrators and they explained how they did the feature page in the September-December 2025 mini. You’ll find it on page 42. This was done with the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper, but you can use any 12″ x 12″ sheet that you have in your stash. Today is part 1 and next week will be part 2.

Part 1 – Cards 1 to 3

Cutting Guide 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) paper

Be aware of orientation of patterned paper if you’ve selected a directional pattern. However, if you select a non-directional pattern, it will make life easier. Another tip – prepare 6 card bases first. You can pick out card base colours according to those reflected in the patterned paper you are using, or you can stick to neutral colours like Basic White or Very Vanilla. Number each card on a post-it note and adhere to the cards so you can “file” them accordingly as you cut each column.

Card Templates

These were the card templates provided by Stampin’ Up! for all 6 cards. Today in Part 1 – we’re referring to Cards 1 to 3.

First Card

There are different techniques to elevate your Designer Series Papers. This first one is adding colour to the back ground if it is white, or very vanilla.

1. Cut Pecan Pie card base at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm).
2. Inside layer : Very Vanilla cut at 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm).
3. Use a blending brush to lightly apply Pecan Pie to the background of your DSP.
4. Stamp the pumpkin from Amber Autumn stamp set and colour with Stampin’ Blends in Pumpkin Pie, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight. Die cut and adhere to bottom right of DSP.
5. Die cut the leaves from Autumn Trees Dies with Mossy Meadow card stock and adhere as shown.
6. Stamp greeting from Amber Autumn in Pecan Pie Ink on Very Vanilla card stock. Trim and adhere on top with dimensionals over the leaves then adhere to front of card leaving an even border on 2 sides and top and bottom.
7. Partially stamp pumpkins on Very Vanilla layer and adhere to inside of card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.

Second card

Use any colouring medium to highlight the images on the DSP. I used alcohol markers i.e., Stampin’ Blends in Mossy Meadow to colour the foliage on the trees.

1. Cut Mossy Meadow card base at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm).
2. Inside layer : Very Vanilla cut at 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm).
3. Adhere DSP to card front.
4. Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow scraps : die cut leaves. Then cut a strip of Cajun Craze ½” x 3 ¼” (1.3 cm x 8.2 cm). Set aside.
5. Stamp “Grateful For You” from Amber Autumn stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock and die cut with Stylish Shapes double flag end stitched die.
6. Apply adhesive to lower half of of label and adhere on top of Cajun Craze strip and afterwards arrange and tuck leaves underneath label and adhere to card front as shown.
7. Add a large and small Streak Dots as pictured to the left of label.
8. Stamp the rocky image in the bottom left of Very Vanilla layer in Mossy Meadow ink and adhere to inside of card leaving an even border on all 4 sides.

Third card

The technique for this piece of DSP is fussy cutting. Move your paper and not the scissors following the contour of the images you’re cutting with a narrow border.

Cutting guide

1. Cut Very Vanilla card base at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm).
2. Inside layer : Very Vanilla cut at 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm)
3. Attach an adhesive sheet to the back of Very Vanilla card stock and die cut the large leaf frame from Amber Autumn Dies. Remove backing and adhere to card front leaving an even border on the two sides and top and bottom.
4. Earthen Toned Metallic 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Paper : Attach a 2″ Adhesive Sheet strip on the back before die cutting the deer. Set aside.
5. Fussy cut the trees. I also fussy cut the pumpkins from a different sheet as pictured in the catalogue.
6. Apply adhesive to fussy cut trees and adhere to card front as shown. Then remove backing from die cut deer and adhere on top of trees.

Sentiment label

1. Cut a strip of Cajun Craze ⅞” x 3 ⅞” (2.2 cm x 9.8 cm). Stamp toward the right end “Autumn Wishes” from Amber Autumn stamp set in Versamark Ink and White Emboss.
2. Next adhere White Embossed Cajun Craze strip on top of foiled deer followed by the fussy cut pumpkins.

Inside card

1. Lastly, adhere fussy cut tree and deer to inside of Very Vanilla layer.
2. Then adhere Very Vanilla to the inside of card base.
