Gingerbread man stocking filler

Gingerbread man stocking filler. I found a new gingerbread flavour of chocolate covered wafer biscuits during my weekly grocery shopping spree. They are made by Nestle – Kit Kat which has been around for a long time and distributed globally. The Gingerbread stamps and die bundle in the September – December 2025 Mini sprang to mind and you can find it on page 54.

Gingerbread man bundle

In the stamp set there are stamps to stamp a variety of different facial expressions, icing, buttons, sweets, the gingerbread man shape and greetings. The dies are so special because it will cut out two gingerbread men shapes with a score line in the middle so that opens like a card. Some of the extras included are a hat, scarf, candy canes and lolly-pop stick with pinwheel details.

FYI The depth of the Kit Kat is ½” (1.3 cm). Consequently, I cut it along the die cut piece along the score line to separate the gingerbread duo and incorporated my own hinge to accommodate the extra depth.

Cutting guide

  1. Die cut a gingerbread man with Pecan Pie card stock. Separate the two gingerbread men by cutting along the score line.
  2. Die cut two hats with Basic White card stock. Also die cut a scarf.
  3. Pinwheel Lolly Die : die cut a lolly out of Real Red and Basic White card stock. Adhere the centres in opposite colours.
  4. Bridging Hinge : Pecan Pie ¾” x 1 ½” (1.9 cm x 3.8 cm)
  5. Treat box template : Pecan Pie card stock 4” x 5 ¼” (10.5 cm x 13.5 cm)

Joining gingerbread men pieces

  1. Long side of hinge piece score at ½”, 1″ (1.3 cm, 2.5 cm).
  2. Apply adhesive to end panels. Omit adhesive on middle panel.
  3. Adhere left side to gingerbread man on left, the right panel to the gingerbread man on the right, leaving the middle panel as pictured above.

Making the treat box

  1. On Short side of treat box template score at 1 ¼”, 1 ¾”,  3”, 3 ½” (3.2 cm, 4.4 cm, 7.6 cm, 8.9 cm).
  2. Rotate card stock so that long side is at the top with wider panel at the bottom. Then begin by scoring at ½”, 4 ⅛”, 4 ⅝” (1.3 cm, 10.5 cm, 11.7 cm).
  3. Cut as shown in photo where the blue lines are. Apply tear n’ tape as pictured.
  4. Flip card stock over, the narrow panel will be on left – fold that in, remove backing tape and seal box.
  5. Remove backing tape at bottom and seal bottom of box.
  6. Punch finger hole as shown with a ½” circle punch (retired).

Attaching box to left gingerbread man

  1. Before attaching the treat box to the gingerbread man on the left, stamp as desired.
  2. The treat box should have the finger hole side face up, so apply adhesive on the reverse and adhere to gingerbread man on the left. Insert the treat and close box lid.
  3. Stamp the gingerbread man details as shown in picture above.
  4. Attach the velcro “button” to the gingerbread man on the right, and close other gingerbread man on top so that the other half of velcro will attach itself to the box.
  5. Adhere the Real Red pinwheel lolly and hat.

Decorating the front

Tip: It’s easier to stamp your gingerbread men pieces before you assemble the other elements.

  1. Stamp the details on the front gingerbread man as pictured.
  2. Adhere the hat and scarf.
  3. Assemble pinwheel elements on the white die cut lolly stick.
