Layered Easter card – Notes of Spring. In March, the product of the month is a stamp set called Notes of Spring. This stamp set features adorable springtime animals like a deer, bunny, duck, as well as some delicate river plants.

It is also a Two-Step stamp set and allows you to layer two or more images to create one final image with extra texture and dimension in your choice of colours. Notes of Spring is a DistINKtive stamp set which has a special texture to add depth and dimension in a single step when stamped to create photo-realistic images.

My project today was to use the bunny image for an Easter card which has multiple layers. Ssh! I’ll let you into a little secret – the ribbon and scalloped detail wasn’t in the original design, but I had smudged it with Tuxedo Black memento ink! I rescued it by adding the scalloped detail and ribbon to cover up the smudge!

Cutting guide

Card front

1. Card base Balmy Blue : 4 ⅛” x 8 ¼” (10.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half.
2. Balmy Blue square : 2 ½” x 2 ½” (6.5 cm x 6.5 cm)
3. DSP Easter Joy : 2 ½” x 2 ½” (6.5 cm x 6.5 cm) square cut diagonally
4. 6 each of ⅛” (0.3 cm) strips of card stock in Cloud Cover, Basic White, Shy Shamrock two-tone card stock (lighter side).
5. Die cut grass with dark side of Shy Shamrock two-tone cardstock, easter egg and stamped tulip
6. Fussy cut rabbit from Notes of Spring and tulip from the Easter Joy DSP.

Inside card

1. Basic White layer 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm)
2. Strip of Easter Joy DSP ½” x 3 ⅞” (1.3 cm x 9.8 cm)

Assembling card

Card front

1. Adhere diagonally cut DSP square with a 1″ (2.5 cm) gap in between centred on the card base top and bottom and the sides.
2. Apply dimensionals on back of Balmy Blue square and adhere on top of diagonally cut squares.
3. Weave six ⅛” strips alternating colours from the right side – Basic White, Cloud Cover, Shy Shamrock two-tone (light side) vertically and horizontally. Adhere on top of Balmy Blue Square.
4. Stamp bunny and tulip on scrap of Basic White. Fussy cut bunny and die cut stamped tulip from Easter Basket dies.
5. Fussy cut tulip from Easter Joy DSP and die cut an Easter egg and grass with corresponding dies from Easter Basket dies.
6. Adhere bunny, tulips and easter egg behind grass and adhere to woven layer.
7. Stamp easter greeting and fussy cut around letters. Apply dimensionals and adhere below as pictured.

Inside card

1. Adhere DSP strip toward bottom of Basic White Layer. Flip over to see if there is any excess and trim off if necessary.
2. Apply adhesive to back of Basic White layer and adhere inside card base.
