I have been looking at the Greenery Lane Washi tape and wondered how I could use it in an easter context. You have to adhere the Washi tape to some card stock first and because the Washi tape is quite wide, you could use it in an alternative way to create a background. Applying such a wide piece can be tricky. It is akin to wallpapering. Have a bone folder ready to help you avoid air bubbles and keep direct contact with the paper as you slowly unroll the washi tape is key.

Greenery Lane Washi Tape

This 3-1/2″ (8.9 cm) wide washi tape features delicate watercolour leaf sprigs, perfect for layering on cards, scrapbook pages, and journals. You can use it as tape or trim the leaves to create easy stickers for effortless embellishing! I used it as an insert for a goody bag full of popping candy easter eggs!

How to alter iridescent treat bag and create insert

1. Score the Iridescent treat bag on both sides and bottom at ½” (1.5 cm). Burnish score lines.
2. Create volume in bag by pinching the bag base into two triangular points and puffing bag out. Add adhesive to the underside of the triangles and adhere to bottom of bag.
3. Cut Basic White insert 6″ x 2 ½” (15 cm x 6.5 cm). On the long side score at 1″ and 2″ (2.5 cm and 5 cm). Cover the inside on the 4″ (10 cm) section with Greenery Lane Washi tape. Trim off any excess and discard.
4. Apply Washi tape on the front facing 1″ (2.5 cm) bit as pictured and it’s optional to cover the 1″ (2.5 cm) bottom if desired.
5. Insert into iridescent bag.

Fill bag with treats and seal bag with topper

1. Insert treats into bag before stapling shut.
2. Cut topper 3″ x 1 ½” (8 cm x 4 cm). On the long side score at 1 ½” (4 cm).
3. Cover one side of topper with Greenery Lane Washi tape and trim off any excess.
4. Fold along score line, fold and tuck iridescent bag and place topper over it and staple together.
5. Prepare label. The “especially for you” is too long to fit into the Nested Essentials die. Mask “for you” and stamp Especially first in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then mask “especially” and stamp “for you” underneath “Especially”. Next stamp with Crumb Cake ink the rabbit and wheat sheaf from Notes of Spring (Product of the month – March) and colour the inside of the rabbit’s ear with Petunia Pop marker.
6. Die cut the label, punch hole with Hole Punch Assortment punches. Thread linen thread through.
7. Tie ⅜” (1 cm) White with Gold ribbon around topper. Lastly attach stamped label by tying label to ribbon with the linen thread.
