Layered card – Capturing Smiles

Layered card – Capturing Smiles. Here’s a layered card featuring Capturing Smiles bundle from March online exclusives. Layering a card creates a focal point and adds depth and interest to a card. Hence I have used other die sets to do this – Party Banner Dies, Stylish Shapes dies and simply trimming pieces of card stock.

I still had some Easter Joy 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty DSP left and the reverse side of the papers can still be used for other projects. It is currently on the Last Chance List at a bargain price.

Cutting guide

  1. Card base : Cloud Cover cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half.
  2. Party Banner Dies – there are 14 dies in the set, 1 being the smallest and 14 being the largest. Use no. 7 die to cut a banner from Easter Joy 12″x 12″ Specialty DSP and adhere to front of card as pictured.
  3. Shy Shamrock layer : 2 ¼” x 3 ⅜” (5.5 cm x 8.5 cm) – adhere on top of Party Banner piece.
  4. Use largest Stylish Shapes square die to die cut Basic White square and adhere this on top of Shy Shamrock piece with dimensionals.

Extra elements

  1. Die cut film strip – one in Basic Black and one in Basic White. Reserve Basic White film strip centres. Stamp scenes on these and adhere inside Basic Black film strip.
  2. Adhere film strip at an angle on top of the Basic White Stylish Shape square.
  3. Stamp “photo op” with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Shy Shamrock card stock and punch out with Three Banner Punch.

Inside card

  1. Basic White card stock – cut at 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm)
  2. Greeting from Nature’s Symphony stamp set “You make me smile” in Gray Granite.
  3. Alternate stamping camera with the scenes.
  4. Stamp 2nd generation camera over greeting and the hearts in Cloud Cover.
