Have you ever lain awake wondering how you can make something 3D from a flat template? On page 25 of the Autumn/Winter catty, I saw these beautiful boxes, but was intrigued at how they managed to make a box out of them.
Once I had that bee in my bonnet, I couldn’t sleep and just had to make one using my theory to see if it would work.
Here’s the first one I made.
Not entirely happy with the prototype, I made a smaller one which nests neatly in the larger one!
So here are the two out of the box with their respective lids on.
Being the neat freak that I am, I cut out extra stars to fit inside the box to hide all the joins. I didn’t decorate them because by the time I finished, it was around 4:30 am! Having satisfied myself that it would work, I crawled back to bed and slept like a baby! That’s what I love about being a Stampin’ Up! Demo, you dictate your own hours, I didn’t have to be at work or have far to travel in order to be at my desk right on the dot of 9:00 o’clock for the start of next working day!
Here’s the supply list. Watch out for a Elaine’s Class in the Mail – details coming soon.
