Long story short, I tend to favour blues, but all the Mosaic Madness samples I’d made were in Pistachio Pudding. For my launch party, I was working through all the new In Color palette, and I left my favourite bundle last, and ended up with greens.
After the launch, I turned my hand to making something 3D – and I thought the Faux Patina technique would work well with Mosaic Madness, and then I could make some more cards in my favourite colours to match the box. I thought of submitting this as a Demo’s Choice at our Quarterly meeting today, but wasn’t entirely happy with the way the crystal effects had been applied. The light was poor, and I’d missed one or two spots and patching up would look unsightly.
For the centre piece, I made a flower using punched out mosaic tiles glued onto a hexagon and prettied it up with a faceted button and the new candy dot and brad base, backed with some Pear Pizzazz taffeta ribbon.
It was rather labour intensive, as I used the faux patina effect on the embossed mosaic tiles – you’d never guess that it originally started life as a plain Whisper White piece of card stock! When I have got some spare time, I will go back and make cards and envelopes to match.
There aren’t any close up pics, as then you’d see all the flaws!
