This is a card I made ages ago. I showed it to my Technique Club ladies and asked if they would like to learn how to make a fun fold card as one of the technique projects next time and got a very positive response. If you would like to learn more on paper crafting techniques, then sign up for my classes. Technique classes are on the 4th Tuesday of each month, and Card Club classes are on the third Tuesday of each month. Email me elaine.harding@gmail.com for more information.
On to the card. It lies flat so it will easily go in the post. This card uses a combination of stamp sets – the images with the birds are from “Flock Together” (ACp90), “Take Care” (ACp91), and “Delightful Dozen” (ACp141). This card looks quite ordinary when closed.
Look what happens when you fan it out! Looks like a stair case! The steps have little rectangles of DSP from the 2011-2013 In Color stack and the floral ones are new from the Spring/Summer catalogue called Print Poetry (SSp16). I used a masking technique for the nest in the branch on the front left of the card.
This is the one the ladies made for Technique club in a different colour way. We used Regal Rose – which is being discontinued. It is only available currently while stocks last. The card was decorated with coordinating DSP from the colour paper stacks. As Easter is now well and truly over, I used a different sentiment and omitted the nest, instead a pair of cute birds perch on both branches. Change the sentiment again and you could use this as an anniversary card instead!
Hope you like it!
A lovely card, where can I get the instructions from?
Thank you Diana. You can purchase the pdf tutorial which includes both metric and imperial measurements under "Vertical Step Card" in the right hand column of my blog.
