5 Minute cards

Fortnight ago I found myself in a position where I had to dash off several birthday cards in order to catch the post, so instead of layering, I stamped in monochrome directly onto the card stock – I was already late for their birthdays and I hang my head in shame because I have consistently been late each year!  These are cards for the grand-kids of a dear friend – we go way back, and transferred gift giving from her children to her children’s children!  February just turned out to be a busy month for birthdays!

What I’m trying to say is that even without layering, you can still make a card which  will still look good even when stripped down to the basics. Why?…..

Food for thought:  As far as cards for kids go, where do you think the card you lovingly created and spent hours making is likely to end up?  The trash can or bin!  Call me a cynic, but I don’t think for one moment that kids would go down the route of sentimentality and keep every hand made card they receive!  So for that reason, a 5 minute card fits the bill, don’t you think?  It won’t break my heart if I haven’t toiled with sweat blood and tears over it!

I used “Patterned Party” (page 46AC) for the boy’s card and the All Dressed Up bundle (page 32SS) for the girl’s card, Sassy Salutations (page 143AC) and  Easy Events (page 34AC).
