Finally for my Sunday share, the rest of the projects that I made for Inspiration Station at May’s Quarterly Meeting. These cones were made from Attic Boutique DSP. Strips of DSP were scored at 1/4″ intervals and attached to a “belly band” and slipped onto the cone. Instead of adhering the ends together, you can leave them unstuck to create two fans left and right or top and bottom.
The trishutter album pictured above used the Framelits Labels collection to adorn the front of the album, and it was just stamping with different images from Open Sea on scraps of Whisper White which was then adhered to the different panels. I used the Twitterpated DSP in the summer mini. In keeping with the masculine theme, I chose the striped paper which had Basic Grey undertones – hence the album is Basic Grey, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White and Marina Mist.
As guest presenters, we always have to demonstrate a technique – and it gets increasingly difficult to try and find new material to do this. Mine was this triple window card using the Framelits Label collection set of dies. Out of a 12″ x 12″ sheet of DSP, you can make 3 trifold window cards. A strip of DSP each measuring 12″ x 4″, scored with 12″ edge on top at 4″ and 8″ will make a finished card size measuring 4″ square. You also need to cut a solid colour piece of coordinating card stock 4″ x 4″ (this is for your medium window aperture). Then it is just a sequence of cutting the apertures to create this layered effect. The Labels collection comprises 6 dies. Counting from the smallest as label die 1 to 6 as the largest, you need dies 1, 2 and 3. Die 3 is used to cut the front panel, Die 2 to cut the 4″x 4″ piece of card stock which is then adhered to the back of the front panel, and Die 1 is used to cut the right panel (see bottom left pic). You need to close the card in this sequence – right panel over centre panel, front panel on top of right panel. When cutting your apertures, remember to centre the die you are using on previously cut aperture to guide you. Happy stamping!
