BABY PRINTS ALBUM

For my Sunday Share, here is the 6″ x 6″ album I made for Victoria’s baby.  I hope she’s opened it by now – she didn’t want to at first, because she liked that I’d used Stampin’ Up!’s packaging paper (ironed with loving care!) which I’d stamped with the Baby Prints set in Blushing Bride all over to gift wrap the album.  It’s made out of one sheet of Crumb Cake 12″ x 12″ cardstock.  We were taught how to do this at the very first Convention I attended in Germany almost 5 years ago!

I stamped in Black Stazon on scraps of Very Vanilla and cut the little pram from Bundle of Love and then matted it on to a scrap of Blushing Bride to make it sturdier. I added a movable “pram hood”having stamped another hood which was attached with a mini brad.  Colours used for colouring were Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.  The top of the album was decorated with some DSP from Nursery Nest and again I used the Baby Prints stamp set and made a title called “baby firsts”.    The tag is from Precious Butterflies hostess set and I added a strip of Early Espresso as an accent colour.  The polytwill Blushing Bride ribbon acts as the “belly band” to keep the album closed.  There’s a lipstick mark on the page for first smile – it’s not me kissing the page – it’s a little stamp called S.W.A.K.  and is available for sale as a single stamp in the main catalogue!  Ha – did you think it was me?

This mini album is all about “firsts” – first smile, first words, first steps and first tooth.  The stamp in this set in the title “baby firsts” triggered the idea for this album.

The foot prints image have the feet closer together, but I thought it would work well inked separately to reflect the baby taking those first steps.

I used marker pens to ink “Cherish the moments” sentiment in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake and cut out the teddy bear image to peep over the label as shown.

It was such fun making this – what took the time was really cutting out the letters.  There is a residue left when cutting them out, and a bit of patience is required to get rid of all the loose bits before adhering it to the album. Thanks for stopping by – enjoy your day of rest!
