I must be on a roll! Two posts this week, after dropping down to one at best! The trouble is trying to find the time to take photos of the projects. It isn’t just a question of point and shoot. It’s finding the time to set up the studio, photograph, upload, edit the photos before they’re deemed useable for the blog, and then having to actually upload content, checking for spelling/grammatical mistakes as well as the pics. So bear with me.
New for this year, Polar Party stamp set on page 20 of the catalogue, available both in wood and clear mount. I resisted the temptation to get this set, and fell at the last hurdle! I also used the banner from Pines and Pointsettias which is fast becoming a favourite too!
The colours I used here are Pool Party and Poppy Parade from the In Color range – Pool Party is this year’s new In Color, and Poppy Parade is from last year. Poppy Parade is still current for this year but will retire in October 2012.
I ran the Poppy Parade through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder then matted it on top of the Pool Party card base. The trees were stamped in Black Stazon and coloured in with markers. I ran a two-way glue pen along the base of the trees and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.
For the inside, I cut the Poppy Parade mat 1/2″ smaller than the card base and the Whisper White card stock 1/2″ smaller than the Poppy Parade mat.
I scored and folded the Whisper White piece in half then half again and stamped the images in the middle of each score line in Black Stazon then coloured in. Then I made cuts where I wanted the images to pop out as pictured above. Adhere only the two side panels, leaving the centre portion free. Dead easy, and looks like fun, which it is!
