Seeing Stars #1, Afterthoughts

I have finally broken out this set which has been sitting in my cupboard, unmounted and uninked for I don’t know how long.  This a wood mounted stamp set with an assortment of 8 stars, different sizes,  called Seeing Stars on page 68 of the Main Idea Book & Catalogue.  What better way to showcase them than on a masculine card.

My base card is in Not Quite Navy and I scored two bands of parallel lines 1/8″ apart on the bottom  half as a detail.  I did some faux stitching in a zigzag pattern in between the parallel lines and used a white gel pen to highlight it.

Still following my Hostess’ brief to use Elegant Soiree DSP, I chose this striped pattern for my background layer matted on to Garden Green.  I stamped the stars with Whisper White craft ink on to the coloured card stock and cut them out, attached silver brads in the centre and raised it on dimensionals and adhered to the panel.

The sentiment is from Afterthoughts, Hostess Level 1.
