Convention 2010 – Share What You Love

Convention took place at Addington Palace in a marquee and complimentary coaches were laid on to take us from the hotel to the venue and vice versa on both days.I forgot my camera on Day 1, and forgot it again for the Awards Dinner in the evening and as the event wasn’t In-House, I was unable to “dash” back to get it so I don’t have any pictures to share with you right from the beginning! We had a full and packed program on both days, learnt such alot, laughed till we cried at times, shared ideas through swaps with other demonstrators and got to know our team mates better as well as forging new friendships with the French and German demonstrators. We even boogied at one point doing the “cupid” dance! This is Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s Co-founder and CEO who showed us some amazing projects she had made using the Color Coach. Pam Morgan, Charlotte Harding showed us some WOW projects too and Demonstrators from Germany, France and UK also presented some WOW projects and there was even a bit of flirting going on with the camera man! Even our European Business Development Managers from Germany, France and UK dressed up for this “sketch” and did some crafting on stage using the Convention’s theme of “sharing what we love” they made a mini scrapbook page featuring their respective hobbies. The stage was set with giant stamps and a tag “share what you love” – I’ve borrowed this photo to show you our team leader Amanda Fowler of Inspiring Inkin’who came top in sales for UK, 3rd in Leadership and is ranked No. 2 in the Top 25 Demonstrators for UK for 2009-2010. There is also a special “The Heart of Stampin’ Up! Award” every year which is given to a Demonstrator who embodies the spirit of Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart – “To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference.” Each year nominations are sent by the demonstrators directly to the US where the selection for the award takes place and this year, it was awarded to Amanda, pictured above (borrowed photo) proudly wearing her “heart”. My fellow team mates…. Here’s me with my “roomie”! A big thank you to Paula, our Country Manager and her Assistant, Kelly, as well as all the staff from our European counterparts, especially Eileen, UK Demo Support, who beavered away behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly and made this 2nd Convention a memorable one.
