Woohoo! Convention is finally here – it’s Stampin’ Up!’s 2nd Convention in Europe. I was lucky enough to attend the very first one in Frankfurt last year and am thrilled that the UK is hosting it this year at Addington Palace, Surrey. It will be a jam packed program of learning, stamping, talking about business, sharing, swapping, fun, laughter with 300 demonstrators from Germany, France and the UK, a team dinner on Thursday and an Awards Night on Friday. What’s swapping? At any get together with other demonstrators whether it’s at Convention, Regional training sessions or at team trainings, we make card fronts with the recipe at the back and our name and contact details. Depending on how many swaps you make, you get the same number back from which you can draw ideas. I joined an organised swap on a forum and these are called CMC swaps – 9 cm square Convention Memory Card, decorated on the front with your contact details and a photo of yourself on the back. I had to make 90 of these and the best bit is getting 89 back! Having to make 90, I used the same stamp sets but varied them a bit as you can see in the pictures below. I used the Artistic Etchings, Sense of Time stamp sets. The card was Chocolate chip and Whisper White, srummy 1/8″ Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon, spiral punch and dry distressing technique.
