For this fortnight’s challenge, we had to make a Box in a Bag gift bag with a card and gift tag and use one of the new ribbons. This is what I made as illustrated in the picture above.
This is a close up of the card. It has a star shaped aperture in the front of the card, a scalloped eyelet border edge with a strip of Old Olive added for contrast and finished off with 1 1/4″ Old Olive striped grosgrain ribbon. In order to hide the ends of the ribbon, I stamped the date in Old Olive, trimmed it and matted it on to 1 3/8″ Real Red circle which was raised on dimensionals and adhered to the scalloped Old Olive circle. I ran a two-way glue pen round the scallop circle edges, dipped it in Dazzling Diamonds and adhered on top of the join in the ribbon.
In this picture, you can see more clearly that a star shaped aperture was cut as a “window” for the large punched out Old Olive star which has been adhered to the card base and raised on dimensionals. I ran a two-way glue pen round the edges of the star and then dipped it in Dazzling diamonds. I then pierced a hole in the middle of the star to attach a clear rhinestone brad before adhering to base card with dimensionals.
