On Monday, the carpet layer came and laid our new carpet. That has made such a difference! We have our home back now – more or less. I got to unpack our new suite at long last, and more importantly, we had somewhere to SIT! I can’t describe what a struggle it’s been over the past 5 1/2 weeks, but surveying our new surroundings, all that aggro was certainly worth it.
After we bolted down our dinner on Monday, we set to moving furniture back downstairs in an effort to get back to normal as quickly as possible. I really wanted to have the table in situ for Thursday’s Technique Club night.
I’m relieved we finally met our deadlines and finished painting in time before the carpet was laid. It’s so nice walking bare foot on new carpet, really bouncy! Now that our part is finished, suffice to say, I don’t want to see another paint brush, dust sheet, skip, nor tradesmen anywhere near us for another decade! Correction – the sparky and chippy still haven’t finished off certain tasks so they need to come back soon, but at least I have my table and chairs up! LOL
