Inspiring Inkin’ Challenge #24

For this fortnight’s challenge, we had to make our own DSP. No pre-printed Stampin’ Up! Designer Papers were allowed and we had to use the picture above to draw inspiration from and this is what I came up with.

I used three of the new stamp sets from the Mini Catalog – Fox & Friends, Framed with Love and Tiny Tags. I couldn’t resist using the new style punches either. This is a real winner, much more compact and easy to store, you can store them flat or upend it – there is a reference image on the punch to identify what it punches out. I digress – so let’s get started.

I used versamark to stamp all the Fox & Friends images to make my own patterned paper, cut a strip of Whisper White and used the pricking tool and mat to make a row of holes then adhered to bottom third of card base.

The frame was stamped with Versamark on to Ballet Blue card stock, used heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds to give the frame texture, stamped frame again on Whisper White, cut out centre and adhered as additional layer with dimensional over the Ballet Blue frame. Leafy branches were punched in Basic Black and Brilliant Blue and positioned underneath frame which was adhered to base card with dimensionals on top of white pricked strip. Silver elastic cord attached on both frame and tags after stamping.

The punched out bird and wing were stamped with Platinum shimmer paint from Tiny Tags. Edges were also inked with Platinum shimmer paint, the bird was adhered straight on to base card, but the wing was raised on a dimensional. A strip of Whisper White card stock was added to edge of card and another in Bashful Blue which was punched with a scallop edge then adhered to the Whisper White strip as a finishing touch.
