I made a 3 tiered explosion box for my grandson’s birthday not long ago and it inspired me to do something similar with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. This uses the Cottage Wall DSP and Flower Fantasy printed window sheets. I’ve only made a single tier as I wanted it to function more as a photo card, than an album. When you take the lid off, this is what it looks like. The motion of taking the lid of the box off actually sets the butterflies “flying”. The butterflies are adhered to the strips of leftover window sheets with glue dots. I stamped and punched out the butterflies on DSP, then punched 5 more out of scraps from the Floral Fancy window sheets to adhere on top of each DSP butterfly to give it more rigidity and weight. The added weight makes them jiggle about! Fab! I made some photo corners which were stuck on with dimensionals so that the Flower Fantasy window sheet layer could be removed and the recipient could add journaling on the Whisper White layer or add a photo if she desired. The flower on top of the lid are 5 scallop circles with inked edges which were snipped on each scallop, spritzed with isproponal and champagne mist mix, scrunched and left to dry before unravelling and tweaking and secured with square ice brad. I had such fun making this.
