Inspiring Inkin’ Challenge#32

Gosh, another challenge already – just where does time go. I’ve finally debugged loading the challenge picture so here it is. This fortnight’s challenge was to draw inspiration from the above picture, whether it be the theme, the colours or certain parts of the picture with the side twist of using 3 stamps sets or more. Here’s my take on it. I really struggled with this one. Yes, there is a 20p stuck in between the hibiscus, it was to hold it down while I took a picture! It is a tri-fold card with a twist. It was designed so you could “see” through the vellum at the sea view beyond. The sea view is more visible in the last picture on this post. I cut away and discarded the centre of the front of the card and attached a piece of vellum so you could “visualise” the sea through it on the card base. Having cut it away, I traced its silhouette on top and bottom and trimmed Tempting Turquoise pieces to sandwich the vellum in between these two layers. I randomly tore some vellum strips, inked torn edges in Tempting Turquoise to represent the sea and stamped embellishments such as the sailboat, shells and sandals to adhere to card as illustrated here. Again, all the unstamped space on the third fold were trimmed and discarded leaving only the hibiscus images which overlapped the first fold leaving the pitcher below it in full view as can be seen in the first picture.
