Aachener Weihnachts Markt

More pics to share….The market itself. It was so cold outside, we nipped into Henry Lambert’s for a comfort stop and respite from the cold. Our camcorder actually stopped working because of the cold. We ordered some gluhwein, as you do, whilst in Germany, and they gave you a couple of biscuits to wash it down with. Suitably refreshed, we braved the elements once again to wander round the market. This stall caught my eye. Hundreds of little 2″ square tiles on display. You could choose any tile to make up a picture. The tiles just dropped into these pre-fabricated frames in different sizes depending on how many tiles you bought and your “composition” was interspersed with tea light holders also. It was so cold we needed to warm ourselves up with MORE gluhwein! This happy chappy was cranking a handle to play tunes on this contraption – it all added to the atmosphere. I don’t know what this bronze sculpture signifies – it just looked pretty and worthy of a snapshot! If anyone can enlighten me, I’d be grateful!
