Distressing Bliss!

No, I don’t mean that I find Bliss distressing – I love the set, what I mean is I applied the distressing technique to this card! I cut two pieces of Very Vanilla 1/4″ smaller than my card base, distressed all the edges with the cutter tool, then inked it in Early Espresso. (I’ve hardly touched Chocolate Chip which was my favourite last season – note to self – must use it more.) On one piece, I stamped the “Friendly” background stamp, stamping off on scratch paper first before stamping on Very Vanilla to lighten the background. On the second piece of Very Vanilla I used the emboss resist technique and shaded with Marina Mist. I tore the top left and bottom right corners so that when layered, it would reveal the wording on the Friendly background layer. Then with the Spritzer tool I distressed these ink spatter patterns in Early Espresso. Next I stamped the word “Bliss” in Marina Mist on a piece of scrap, punched out with large oval punch, inked edges and adhered with dimensionals to centre of embossed resist motif. I stamped a butterfly in the top right and another on a piece of Very Vanilla scrap which I went over with White Frost shimmer paint using a sponge dauber and cut it out then adhered it on top of the previously stamped butterfly with a dimensional. I inked all the edges on this layer with Marina Mist. In order to give it more of a vintage feel, I distressed top left corner of the Friendly layer further and curled the corners with the piercing tool. Lastly I attached the ribbon in the bottom left corner of the Bliss layer, curled the top right corner of the Bliss layer, inked it then adhered it to the Friendly layer, added a brad in the top right of the Friendly layer, then adhered both layers on to the card base.
