Treat Box & Card Combo with Bliss

I was invited to demonstrate a project for an Inspiration Station at one of our team meetings. This is the project I made to inspire others. It is a treat box combined with a card created from one sheet of paper, hence the title “Treat Box & Card Combo” and I chose to use the “Bliss” stamp set.

Decoration

Step 1

After constructing the box and pocket for the card, I stamped the word “Bliss” and punched it out with the Designer Label punch. Then I sponged the edges in Night of Navy ink and adhered it with dimensionals to front of the pocket on the bottom left.

Step 2

Here is a close up of the brocade motif which was stamped directly onto Pretty in Pink DSP from the Subtles Paper stack. I then selected the largest size pearl to adhere to its centre as a focal point.

Step 3

I then stamped the exposed part of the pocket with the butterfly and flower image in Night of Navy ink. When you stamp tone on tone, this will give the illusion of a watermark. You can create the same effect with Versamark ink.

Step 4

I punched out an aperture on the box part using the Modern Label Punch so it would reveal what was inside the box. To decorate the box, I stamped “bird” at the bottom to add some interest.

Tealights

The tealights were a first for me. I’d procrastinated for a long time – hot wax and me don’t mix! It was a cinch to do though, Amanda demoed it at one of her team training sessions, and I eventually plucked up the courage to have a go. Just fold up some tissue paper concertina like, sandwich in between some copy paper and punch. Fold the wad of circles while still stacked into quarters, snip the corner to create a hole. Stamp on each circle, thread it through the wick on your tea lite, apply gentle heat with heat tool and the molten wax will adhere the tissue and embed it into the tea lite as pictured above.

Finally, I punched two 1″ circles to use as closures for the top and bottom of the box.

I loved making this! Hope you liked it too! Thank you for visiting.
