Baby Blossoms

This is the Baby Blossoms set which uses the two-step stamping method. It means you have to stamp the image twice with two different stamps to complete the picture. The first stamp is in a lighter colour for the petals, and the second corresponding image stamp adds depth and is stamped in a darker colour. I just eyeballed mine, so it’s slightly skewiff if you look closely but I think that just adds to its charm because it’s hand crafted. Also featured is the Square Lattice embossing folder. I used it to create a background textured strip behind the main feature. I stamped the Baby Blossom images first on Whisper White card stock, then centred it over the Large Oval punch, raised it on dimensionals and adhered to the Decorative Label in Old Olive. BTW, I discovered that you need to shorten the width of your card by 1/4″ if you want the textured strip to extend all the way across the card. If you look closely at my sample above, part of the texture is missing because I’d cut my card to my standard size of 8″ x 5 3/4″. I realised too late, and couldn’t adjust it as I’d already stuck the layers down. The colours I used here are Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. The Old Olive seam binding ribbon got the no sew ruched treatment which is all the rage at the moment and in the top right corner I added a Big Designer Button in Old Olive (from my personal collection) using a sliver of Rich Razzleberry as faux thread. The Big Designer buttons are in the new mini in Springtime Vintage colours. They were featured in an earlier post here.
