Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone. This isn’t a very good photo – it looks a bit dark. In an earlier post I’d talked about these little individual cupcake stands – well, here they are! They were just perfect for making a little display of the little easter projects I made. Notice I haven’t got very many chocolate easter eggs as DH and I are watching our waistlines and I resisted the temptation to go overboard! This easter card uses the Good Egg stamp set, Top Note die, cardstock Daffodil Yellow, Pumpkin Pie, retired Sweet Pea paper stack, Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. I used the extra large Petal Card punch to make the little boxes and embellished with some punch art – bunnies and a chicky! Also used the itty bitty punches to do the tails and added a pearl for a touch of class. More boxes, the taller one is a “two, four, six, eight” box – named that because the score lines are scored at 2,4,6,8″ on the long side from a piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/4″ x 6″, you rotate 90 degrees and score at 2″ on one straight edge for the box base. This box was demonstrated by the lovely Michelle Last who shared it with us at a Regional Training session for SU demonstrators last year. She also showed us how to make that cute little bunny peeking longingly at the easter treats inside. You can find her video tutorial here. Lastly I made an easter bonnet – I used the No #2 Sizzix Scallop circle for the brim of the hat, and various size circle punches to create the hat itself. You can tell that I’m rushing this post as I’m making do with this photo. It doesn’t do that hat justice. The leaves were from the extra large two-step bird punch and the flowers from the boho blossom punch. The hat rim uses the new Springtime Vintage papers from the mini, and co-ordinates with Rose Red cardstock as does the seam binding ribbon. I finished off with a faux pearl for the flower centre. We’ve been blessed with glorious sunshine these past few days. I hope you’re all enjoying this Easter break with friends, family and loved ones. Thank you for stopping by. We will be picking our Son and Grandson up from Heathrow tonight on their return from Beijing, so am looking forward to hearing all about their trip and at least spend what’s left of Easter Sunday with them. God Bless! TTFN. Back properly next week. Oooh – PS we finally get to eat those cupcakes! 🙂 smiling!

  1. Gorgeous display Elaine. Love the little bunny boxes and the Easter bonnet. Like you I am on a low-chocolate Easter – just one cream egg for me!
