A Flower for All Seasons

I haven’t been able to blog all this week as I’ve had my daughter and her young family staying (one 4-year old and the other has just turned 1).  Entertaining them and keeping them fed and happy has been a full time occupation so I haven’t had a chance to get into my craft room until this morning whilst they nipped into town with grandpa to get his weekly cooked breakfast treat and the paper.

All of them have been suffering from colds, so needless to say, we’ll come down with it sooner or later.  DH felt the first twinges yesterday, and I’m feeling even more achy and heady today, ugh!  Being ashmatic, it takes me forever to get over it so I’m not looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

I took the opportunity while the family were out to make this quick card.  I’ve used one of the  Flower for All Seasons  (111592  Page 53 of the main Idea Book & Catalogue available in wood mount only in a set of 4) images which I stamped in Black Stazon on watercolour paper and used watercolour crayons and an aqua painter to colour in the pot of sunflowers.  I then cut round the contours and raised it on dimensionals and placed it on the chair.   The rest of the images/sentiments are from my personal collection.  The colour combo used here is Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette and Bravo Burgundy.  For a bit of detail, I used my old faithful scalloped edge punch and piercing tool.
