I woke up at 2.00 this morning and was missing my baby and her babies and couldn’t get back to sleep. They left mid afternoon yesterday and the house feels strangely quiet. Everything is back in its proper place as we had to raise the plumb line to stop baby getting his hands on things he shouldn’t including moving the bin into the utility room behind a closed door as he found out how to open it and liked a good old rummage! As usual I found solace in my craft room and made this card, an idea which had been buzzing in my head which I just had to execute now that I can re-focus on what I love to do best. I stamped the tape measure image from Sew Lovely stamp set on to Rose Red seam binding ribbon in Black Stazon ink and used the faux ruching technique tucked behind a frame die cut from the Lots of Tags 4 pack Sizzlet dies (114508 on page 8 of the Mini Catalog) seen here. I die cut one in Rose Red, and the other in Very Vanilla on which I stamped the sentiment from the Level 1 Hostess set, Afterthoughts. I stamped the cotton reel image and wound linen thread round the “spool” to give an added dimension before adhering to bottom left of card front. I trimmed the outer rim of the second Lots of Tags frame in Very Vanilla and distressed the edges before adhering with dimensionals on to the Rose Red die cut frame.
When the card is open, there is an array of buttons stamped in More Mustard on So Saffron cardstock. I have the Button Button set in clear mount, so I used one of the bigger acrylic blocks, and arranged the button images randomly rubber side down, then placed the acrylic block over all the buttons and pressed firmly to attach them all at the same time.
This will be my feature card for June, it has an unusual closure which I will reveal in another post after I have shared this with my club ladies and workshop hostesses and their guests. I won’t necessarily use this particular stamp set so as not to spoil the surprise.

Gorgeous card Elaine. Love the colour theme and those button stamps look fab.
Hope all is well with you. Hope you are enjoying getting back to normal. Can't believe half term is over already – 7.5 weeks till my next holiday – not that I'm counting!!
