Two of my Inkin’ Divas accompanied me to Amanda’s Quarterly Meeting at Locks Heath yesterday and we had a blast. These were the swaps I made using the Summer Splash set in the mini. Do you ever get “inspiration block”? Some stamp sets you look at and a ton of ideas on what kind of cards you can make with it will hit you, but I found this set was a bit of a challenge, so I hope my offering this Sunday comes up to scratch.
I used a masking technique for the shell behind the bucket and raised the starfish on a dimensional for a 3D effect. The fishes were cut out individually – thankfully they were quite an easy outline as I had 35 card fronts to do so that amounted to 70 fish to cut, and then of course there were 35 starfishes to cut too! Thin Bashful Blue strips were wrapped around the Whisper White card (to represent the sea – a bit of imagination needed here {wink}) then I used a two-way glue pen on alternate stripes on the fish and added fine cosmo glitter to bling it up, and adhered it with dimensionals. Lastly, I added some crystal effects to the bubbles.

As usual the day was jam packed. One of the projects we had to do was a bunting which was an all day project which you could dip into as time would allow. I elected to leave doing the bunting/banner at home – it’s deviated a little from Amanda’s original design here– instead of using Old Olive satin ribbon and jumbo eyelets and the circle dies, I’ve used the scallop circle punch, small eyelets and gold elastic cord. I wanted the bunting to last more than one season, so from a storage point of view, the ribbons would crush, but the elastic cord wouldn’t. After inking my chipboard letters, I also stamped some snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes set in Cherry Cobbler, clear embossed then set aside to dry properly before adhering clear rhinestones to it. Bottom left picture shows the back of pennant – instead of using DSP, I cut more Cherry Cobbler to co-ordinate so that I could save the other two sheets of 12×12 patterned DSP.
On a different note – Part II of the Deathly Hallows just opened this weekend and we didn’t think we would be able to get tickets, but we did!
