Creative Elements, Outlined Occasions

A special card for a special lady celebrating her 50th birthday recently.  I came back from a meeting in Soberton one Wednesday night and realised to my horror that I still hadn’t made her a card and that if I didn’t make it  that night and post it pronto, it wouldn’t reach her in time.  Hence I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and ended up doing what I usually do, pop out in my PJs, slinging my overcoat on top and ventured out in the wee hours of the morning to catch the post before the break of dawn!  Thank goodness there wasn’t any frost on the windscreen to scrape off!

I’m scheduling the post for today to make sure she’s received it.  The stamp set I’ve used is Creative Elements on page 67 of the main catalogue and I combined it with one of the Sale-a-bration sets called Outlined Occasions.  I’ve used tone on tone – Island Indigo ink and card stock, stamped on Whisper White and a scrap of Pool Party and Island Indigo for layering the “Celebrate” sentiment on the front.

Here’s the inside.  The numbers are from a set in my personal collection and I used a versamark pen to highlight the number five and zero, sprinkled with heat and stick power, and glittered it to make it pop.

Yawn!  I really ought to crawl into bed now that it’s creeping toward 5.38 am!  Am I mad or what, blogging at this time of night.   Just as well I don’t have an office job!  Anyway, job’s done now, so I won’t lie awake thinking about it!

Happy stamping!

  1. Thank you Elaine, the card arrived in time, and the photo does not do it justice, it is even more beautiful in real life. You going out in your PJ's to post it makes it even more special, you are a star. Thank you so much.
