My aged Mum is in her 80s (she probably won’t thank for mentioning her illustrious age!) and has gone globetrotting again! (She’d recently toured Russia then Ireland and came to visit with me here in the UK at the end of last year before returning to Australia via Singapore and was away from home for almost 3 months!) It amazes me how energetic she is. She’s only been back in Melbourne for a short spell and is now on the road again! So this card is for all you Mums out there – Happy Mother’s Day.
I digress – back to the card. This is another sample I made using the Everyday Enchantment papers, free with each £45 spend. It is not available for purchase in the Main Catalogue or Mini and when Sale-a-bration ends, it will mean saying good-bye to them for good! 🙁 So if you’d like to get your hands on some, contact me asap to book a workshop or make a purchase!
I’ve used a paper piecing technique for the oversized buttons. What is paper piecing? You stamp on patterned paper, then cut out parts of the image you want and glue it to a second stamped image. I stamped a second purse on Whisper White scrap and punched the image out with a 1 1/4″ circle punch, inked the edges in Calypso Coral before adhering it with glue dots to the button. The Designer Buttons are HUGE. You can find them on page 11 of the Spring Mini. 16 buttons with 4 of each colour in Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz. They were just perfect to use for framing the little images from the Every Little Bit stamp set.
Did you know that this set has 28 little images suitable for any occasion? It is such a good investment. You might gag at the price, of £32 + for the clear set, but it works out at just over £1 per stamp – so it’s not really expensive at all! For some ideas – after stamping the little image, you can use a colouring technique, punch them out with one of the many punches available, layer them on to one of the scallop edge punches whether it’s a square, circle etc and it will make a great card. I think the cartoon type illustrations are really sweet and part of its charm. You get holiday type stamps – it covers christmas, halloween, valentine’s, St Patrick’s, pets, babies, all the seasons and even some girlie and blokey ones too! It’s a fantastic set to use with a Mum/Dad and me session with your kiddliewinks and you can make a stack of cards in just a twinkling of an eye!
Anyway …. back to the card in hand!
Here’s the inside. I’ve used Fresh Vintage again and the sentiments are from the Petite Pairs stamp set. This is available both in Wood mount and Clear mount and can be found on page 83 of the main catalogue.
Thanks for stopping by – enjoy Mothering Sunday! Hugs xxx
