Up, Up & Away

A short working week this week after the Jubilee Jamboree – I found it a tad difficult to settle back into work mode and didn’t venture into my craft room till Friday.  More cards from my Summer Mini Event to showcase this Sunday – this time with the Up, Up & Away set.

For the card above, I used a masking technique to create the sun rays – colour combo was So Saffron and More Mustard, the balloons were stamped in Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red Inks and cardstock in the same colour as well as Whisper White. For the inside, I used the triple doiley punch to hide the brad.

In this card I showcased the Attic Boutique DSP – love that script and the touches of colour in Pool Party and So Saffron co-ordinated well with the card base and accent mats.  I used Versamark, Heat and Stick powder, heat tool and the Supernova glitters on the balloon image.

Same balloons but this time made into Christmas ornaments, again using versamark, heat and stick powder, heat tool and Fine galaxy glitters to create this effect, embellished with the 1/8″ real red taffetta ribbons and the square fire brads.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes punched and layered with the Modern Label punch.

Last, but not least, I  used the balloons as petals for a flower!    I re-cycled the “negative” of left over piece from cutting the scallop adorning accent edgelit on another card to adorn the base of this card – waste not want not!  I used the new pleated satin ribbon as the stem and  Beautiful Wings embosslits dies, the large oval and scallop oval punches for the sentiment and the Boho blossoms punch and 1 1/4″ punch for the flower centre. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks for stopping by.

  1. Wow Elaine – you are SO persuading me that I need this stamp set. I totally love the baubles-from-balloons idea – wonderful!

  2. love the first card – the sun's rays and the balloons. Almost summery (unlike the weather). Inspired to turn the balloon's into baubles (although I don't want to think about Christmas for ages).
