Sunday Share

For my Sunday share this is a “party” invitation card.  My card base is in Sahara Sand and I used the largest die from Framelits Labels collection to cut the Pink Pirouette layer which was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots EF. The next layer was cut with the Window Frames collection out of Snow Festival DSP,  I punched two 1/2″ circles and snipped it close together to create the eyelashes and adhered it with dimensionals.

To create the multi-coloured banner, I stamped “party” in different colours, then cut them out and adhered it with dimensionals too.  The ribbon I used is the new satin stitched ribbon in Gumball Green.

Of course you don’t need to confine yourself to just using the stamp set for making cards!  Here’s a fun way to jazz up drinking straws.  I punched large scalloped circles to adhere my stamped owl images on and attached it to the drinking straw with a glue dot.  They have been personalised with  their names using the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet on page 147 of the main Annual Catalogue.

Can I let you into a little secret?  I was in our local kitchen shop and spied the bottles pictured above.   I bought them so I could dress them up  thinking they were ordinary soda pop bottles.  To my horror, when I put the drinking straw in, the straws were about an inch too short!   The bottles were really for salad dressing not pop bottles so they had exceptionally long necks!  Not to be defeated, I joined two straws together, and snipped the straws to the right height so I could still use it for my display!   Shhhhh!  Not sure if you can actually sip drink with it – might spring a leak and you’d only be sucking up air! Hehe!

Happy Sunday!
