HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!

It’s Mothering Sunday in UK,  and I hope you Mums out there are being pampered as befits the occasion! My Mum resides in Australia and the Aussie Mother’s Day is much later in the year.    I always tend to forget – so if you’re reading this on the Facebook feed Mum, this card is for you – Happy Mother’s Day in advance!   So this is a triple whammy card I made in honour of the day.  If truth be known, it was a sample I had to make for Leigh’s workshop last weekend as she had requested the Hearts Framelits dies for her demo!  It’s still made with alot of love – so Happy Mother’s Day to my wonderful mother!

Leigh’s favourite colours are turquoise and greens, so Island Indigo paired with Pool Party was the perfect marriage.  The stamp set I used is called “You are Loved”, and we all love our Mums don’t we?  For the largest heart panel, I stamped the large heart image with the swallow highlighted in a darker colour.  The middle panel sported the floral image and for the smallest heart, I only partially inked the swirl from the “Happy Valentine’s Day” stamp and then finished by punching out a small heart out of silver glimmer paper  and an even smaller heart from the owl builder punch which I tinted with Tempting Turquoise.  “Happy Mother’s Day” came from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

These were the stuffed hearts I made for the Sandown show – I used the Hearts Framelit dies to cut the hearts out of Stampin’ Up!’s More Amore patterened fabric (100% cotton) currently available in the new Spring/Summer catalogue.  Mine were stuffed with polyester filling and hot glued to lollipop sticks so that I could display them in a soda pop bottle,  but you could put lavendar and other scented pot pourri into the sachets instead. Scented sachets are always a good seller at craft stalls.

Enjoy your “Pamper Mum” day!!! Back soon with more samples!
