Well, hello Cuckoo for you!
If you love interactive cards as much as I do, then this “push/pull” card is bound to tickle your fancy! I had cased the catalogue and used the wood grain Dynamic embossing folder, so imagine my horror when I realised that it had been retired!
I substituted it with the Beads & Baubles embossing folder which is just a standard embossing folder and needs both the acrylic plates and the Big Shot Basic platform to make it work. It resembles Anaglypta wallpaper – a range of paintable textured wall coverings made from paper found in the UK. Of course you can stamp the clock on Whisper White or Very Vanilla then colour in the background, but I was taking the lazy route and stamped it directly on to coloured card stock to keep colouring to a minimum with the added benefit of saving production time! To allow the push/pull mechanism to work more effectively, I put a double stack of dimensionals on either side of it, creating a “track”. By the time I popped a dimensional on the back of the squirrels too, it ended up being triple height! So what I’m trying to say is that this card should be hand delivered or if you are going to post it, it will likely cost a lot more than standard postage! Along the way, there are a few tips and tricks so you don’t have to make the mistakes I did!
When you push up in the direction of the arrow …. it
…opens the door and you’ll find a little bird in there!
I used the Stamparatus to create a mirror image of the squirrel. His normal position is looking to the right, but I stamped a mirror image by using the Stamparatus. To see how, click play on the video tute above.
