I know for some of you that early September may be a tad too early for all things Christmas – my 12 weeks Countdown to Christmas projects usually begins in the last week of September, so I thought I would share more of the See a Silhouette cards I made.
I have been waiting for the See a Silhouette Suite for what seems like an eternity! A huge “thank you” to my lovely upline, Amanda, who sent me the bundle as part of her team incentive to hit our monthly targets for sales or recruiting and which I’m happy to say, I earned.
The idea for this card had been buzzing in my head, even before I received it, so it was lovely to actually see it come to fruition.
I used a water colour technique called smooshing and then flicked water at it once it had dried to create the “splatters” you can see – supposed to be “raindrops”. You have to use your imagination as they aren’t like real rain drops! lol!
The new Mosaic 3D embossing folder was just right for creating the pavement and I cut a slot in the fold of the card to slip the ribbon through to hide the harsh lines.
I also mixed my own “shimmer” black embossing powder – one and a half teaspoons of black embossing powder to 1 teaspoon of Dazzling Diamonds.
Here’s the inside of the card. It was also embossed and I adhered a piece of Pool Party above the mosaic tiles so that the die cut wording would “pop”.
The new 3D embossing plate is now available – they make up the difference in height of the thinner 3D embossing folders and work beautifully with the die cutting machine. Although there isn’t one currently in Stampin’ Up!’s product line, I’m still using the Big Shot that they offered up until the end of May this year.
Plans are afoot to develop a new one but there is no definite date yet. Just as it is with the trimmer also. Like the Stamparatus, their own brand of stamp positioning tool, in my opinion it is far superior to other ones I’ve used. So, it’s worth the wait!
