We all need gift card holders especially for the Christmas season. I don’t know about you, but as our children went from teenagers to adults, we often give gift cards from stores they frequent, or more often than not, they prefer cash or a cheque to allow them greater flexibility to spend as they wish.
This day and age, the sales start on Boxing Day, and armed with their Christmas money, they go on a spending spree and pick up bargains during the Christmas break. How times have changed!
I got my inspiration for this from an Australian Demonstrator, the lovely Bronwyn Eastley on Pinterest. I don’t know how she made hers, but here’s how I made mine, so I thought I’d share how. Enjoy!
Cutting Guide Imperial
- Card Base-Thick Whisper White 11-3/4″ x 4-1/8″. Long side on top score at 3/8″, 3-1/8″, 5-7/8″. On the second panel, punch finger hole using the 1″ circle punch. Apply Tear and Tape on 1/2″ tab
- Bridging piece for pocket – Whisper White – 1″ x 2-1/2″, short side score 1/2″. Fold along score line and apply tear and tape on both sides. Cut ends at 45 degree angle. Mitre tab on card base
- Front pocket layer 1- Seaside Spray 2-3/8″ x 4″
- Front pocket layer 2 – Whisper White 2-1/8″ x 3-3/4″
- Front Pocket Layer 3 – Feels Like Frost specialty DSP – reverse side with silver pattern on top 3-5/8″ x 2″
- Inside card insert for Snow Dome – Feels like Frost specialty DSP 5-3/4″ x 4″
Metric
- Card Base-Thick Whisper White 29.8cm x 10.5 cm. Long side on to score at 1cm, 7.9 cm, 14.9 cm. On the second panel, punch finger hole using the 1″ circle punch. Apply Tear and Tape on 1.3 cm tab
- Bridging piece for pocket – Whisper White – 2.5 cm x 6.35 cm short side score 1.3 cm. Fold along score line and apply tear and tape on both sides. Cut ends at 45 degree angle. Mitre tab on card base
- Front pocket layer 1- Seaside Spray 6 cm x 10.2 cm
- Front pocket layer 2 – Whisper White 5.4 cm x 9.5 cm
- Front Pocket Layer 3 – Feels Like Frost specialty DSP – reverse side with silver pattern on top 9.2 cm x 5 cm.
- Inside card insert for Snow Dome – Feels like Frost specialty DSP 14.6 cm x 10.2 cm
