GAME ON – PATTERN PLAY

Happy Sunday! Game on – non essential outlets due to re-open in England! Yay! Sadly, I’ve got to stay at home until the end of June and carry on shielding. I’m happy for those who can. Please, please remember to social distance and that we still need to exercise caution!

Father’s Day is next Sunday in UK. I have a masculine theme starting today. For the man who is card sharp, loves a game of chess or even indulges in a bit chance by rolling the dice, this stamp set certainly ticks all the boxes !

Are you wondering how I made the cards appear behind the chess pieces? It’s a simple technique. You stamp the chess pieces on a post it note. Make sure you stamp part of the image on the sticky part of the post it note, though. Then you fussy cut the stamped image just inside the lines to use as a mask. Stamp the chess pieces on your card front and lay the mask on top. This will “mask” the chess pieces when you stamp the playing cards next. Remove the mask and lo and behold – the cards will appear behind the chess pieces!

I stuck with a tone on tone colour palette. I love blues, so I keep reaching for Misty Moonlight! The papers are from Playing with Patterns Suite on pages 100-102. Did you notice that the letters have been raised? I’m using a new product called Foam Adhesive Sheets. It makes popping up Alphabets a real breeze!

Here’s the inside of the card. Clean and simply stamped sentiment “Happy Father’s Day” from Best Year and the “Lucky Me….” from Game On.

The supplies I used are listed below and link directly to the item in my online store.
