Hello, how are you? In the UK, we are currently in our second lock down until December 2. At time of writing the USA elections were in full swing and Biden is now the President Elect.
I try to stay apolitical and keep my views to myself so I stay away from social media platforms and certainly won’t bring it into my blogging arena.
I’ve noticed a trend for long slim cards but I’ve steered away from them because Stampin’ Up! don’t carry DL envelopes. I was under the illusion that if I made a long slim card, I’d also have to make the envelop! The envelop punch board that Stampin’ Up! used to carry is still in my possession, but it seemed like extra work I didn’t need. Duh! Light bulb moment! Why not just use the office DL envelopes I have in abundance?
This is another card I designed to send to one of my new pen pals. Stampin’ Up! had created a group where Demonstrators from all over the world could connect.
The Details
From an A4 sheet, with the long side at the top, I trimmed off 3″. I then trimmed it to 3″ x 6″ and folded it in half so that it would create a 3″ x 3″ card. So from a whole A4 sheet I could create a tall card and a small one too.
With the remainder of the card stock, I simply folded it in half to create this card for the long tall card. It fits perfectly into the DL envelopes.
The Stitched Shapes Dies came in handy. In the set there are 4 stitched dies each in 3 shapes: Ovals, Circles and Squares. I used the largest Stitched Square for the middle, and the second largest square to create this card layout.
My palette was Night of Navy, Old Olive and Whisper White with just a hint of Crumb Cake to ground the vase. All the cards I created to send to my pen pals are from the Boho Indigo Product Medley.
