Angled Fancy Fold card with Hey Chick

Do you like receiving unusual cards? Here’s an Angled Fancy Fold card using the returning Hey Chick stamp set which was once a Sale-a-bration stamp set. It was first released in 2017 and you can see the samples I made back then HERE and HERE . The Hey Chick stamp set was so popular, Stampin’ Up! brought it back with a new set of simply gorgeous dies to die for! When you open the Angled Fancy Fold card, it reveals a chicken coop which I glued to one of the triangle sections to make it “pop”.

Hey Chick Stamps & dies

The “Hey Chick” stamp set features three breeds of chicken. My favourite is the one with the unruly crest of feathers! I googled breeds of chicken and this was the closest I found that resembled the one in the stamp set! It’s a Polish Silver laced crested chicken. I coloured mine in Mango Melody – just a bit of artistic licence! Quite different from the Silkie I orginally thought it was! In fact I think it probably resembles the Polish Silver laced crested chicken rather than the Silkie!

There are 19 dies in the set, and some are multiples of the same die so that you can cut lots of them with just one pass through the die cutting machine! Some of the dies are extras and bear no relation to the stamps in the stamp set. I love that there is a chicken coop, and a sign board, a chain link fence, and even a corn plant.

This card is deceptively simple to make, and yet it may pique interest because it isn’t the bog standard card!
