Easter Orb Drop Box with Timeless Tulips

Spring is here and it’s Timeless Tulips time to create a fabulous Easter Orb Drop Box. The Easter orb I created is more like a dropped orb as it isn’t spherical. I so enjoyed created my own patterned paper with the Timeless Tulips stamp set and dusting the cobwebs off it! The last time I used this set was in April 2020! I’d already taken a picture of the orb drop when I realised that it lacked a focal point.

It was easily rectified by stamping a little label punched out with the Classic Label punch to say “Happy Easter”. There is a 1/8″ hole punched in each of the flaps for the closure of the box at the top, so I needed a ribbon that was soft and squishy! I had some Petal Pink striped organdy ribbon which fitted the bill and that’s how I chose my ink palette! Pastel Pink, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz which are the the Subtles family of colour.

I’ve made a video tutorial to de-mystify how you score and fold the box. It really isn’t as complicated as it looks and I hope you’ll have a go!

Tips on scoring

The solid lines represent cut lines, and the dashed lines represent the score lines. Blue shaded area represents the 2 small rectangles to be cut and discarded.

1. Basic white (thick) 8-1/4″ x 5-¾” – score on short side first at 1″, 2″ and 3″
2. Rotate card stock 180 degrees and score the other side at 1″
3. Align long side at top, with the 1″ horizontal score line uppermost and score at every inch at 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″, 8″.
4. With card stock in same position, partially score at 1½”, 3½, 5 ½”, 7 ½”. Keep card stock in same position and run stylus down 1 ½” groove on score board and partially score at 1 ½” up to next scoreline (1″ from bottom edge of card stock). Repeat process at 3 ½”, 5 ½”, 7 ½”.
5. Next you need to score diagonal lines in the rectangles directly below the as well as the squares at the bottom as shown in the diagram below.
