Thank you card with Wrapped Bouquet

Happy Sunday!

I made a Thank You card for today’s post and as I had only just received my Wrapped Bouquet Bundle I couldn’t wait to have a play!

Rococco Rose is one of the In Colors from 2019 and will be retiring in the not too distant future. I shall be using as much of it as I can before it disappears for good!

Paper piecing technique

I wasn’t comfortable with having black leaves as the stamp incorporated not only flowers, but leaf fronds as well. So I hit on the idea of stamping it three times – twice in Tuxedo Black memento ink and once in Old Olive. I could then fussy cut the newspaper wrap from one, to adhere on top of the Old Olive one. Next I cut the flowers from the other Tuxedo Black image and adhered these to the Old Olive flowers.

Colour Palette

The flowers were coloured in with Rococco Rose and the “Thanks Friend” sentiment was also stamped with the same colour.

So Saffron mat layer complimented the Rococco Rose card base and provided a contrast for a second layer of Rococco Rose which was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder.

Extras

I used the scalloped border die from the Peony Dies as an extra touch. Extra leaves were die cut in Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive card stock to make the bouquet look fuller.

There is also a die which die cuts a trio of flowers in three sizes which I cut in So Saffron and added to the bouquet. For the final touch, I adhered tiny pearls to the flower centres and tied a double strand of twine from the Snail Mail Twine combo pack.
