Today I have another fancy pull out fold card with the You’re a Peach bundle. I’m taking advantage of the selection of Designer Series Paper 15% discount, and chose the You’re a Peach 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) designer series paper pack to create a card which pulls out from the inside.
Making the prototype for this card was a comedy of errors! It wasn’t until afterwards when I was filming the tutorial that I noticed I’d stuck the DSP upside down on the card front! I also forgot to glue the DSP to the card front before I die cut the circle. So as not to waste the paper, I die cut the circle from the back. It wasn’t a good look, and I ripped the card stock when I took off the post it notes to secure the die!
Then I had a brain wave to nestle the straight circle die inside the large scallop circle die to cut a frame! Cutting the frame wasn’t problematic at all, but the scallop circle die did mark the straight circle die. I learnt the hard way so you don’t have to! lol! My advice is to cut the scallop circle separately. Once your scallop circle has been cut, then fit the straight circle in the die cut scallop ensuring there is an even border all round to die cut your frame. This way you won’t damage your die!
While busy “chatting” on the video, I made another faux pas! I applied adhesive to the side I wanted on display. So you see, it really was a Comedy of Errors.
I corrected my mistakes as I was filming the video tutorial. you’ll be pleased to know!
